Midtown isn’t called “The Heart of Reno” for nothing. For one thing, the district’s location—situated along the stretch between Liberty Street and Plumb Lane, and including its immediate surrounding areas—places it in the city’s central most location. But anyone familiar with Midtown’s story will tell you that it isn’t location alone that has earned Midtown its title. In fact, it is really the people and their commitment to showcasing all that makes the City of Reno so special, so exciting and so inclusive that have contributed most to what distinguishes Midtown from its surrounding areas. More than a district, Midtown is a labor of love built on genuine enthusiasm for the aspects of art, history, culture and commerce that have long found their home in the region and are now stepping out of the shadows of a once challenged economy whose variety went largely overlooked until recent history.
